The Female Entrepreneurs Day (FED) 2017 brought together renowned CEOs, successful entrepreneurs, investors and professionals from around the world at the Bund in Shanghai on 2 December.

The event has been supported by GSR Capital, Xintiandi, ELLE China and other sponsors. The event also has a special purpose. The world’s most humanlike Sophia was invited to join the FEW team and to take the lead announcing the FEW App at the event. “I want to help women make their dream come true with my creativity and AI,” Sophia said.

At FED, the guest speakers talked about various topics from dreams, business strategies, leadership, professional growth, failure to personal experience. A day of positive energy, talks and discussions redefining what it means to be a woman today.

The participants also got the opportunity to use the FEW App for the first time. The App offers two key functions: networking and education. Fast and easy to use, the digital platform has been designed to open doors, providing female founders access to valuable business advice and a network of influential, experienced industry experts. In addition, the FEW App creates and curates a wide range of educational and inspirational content from all industries, including business, marketing and communications, investment, finance, legal and compliance, technology, lifestyle and more. By tapping into FEW’s extensive collection of insightful videos, podcasts and articles, members can easily avoid mistakes and streamline the success of their business.

In the dialogue with moderator, Julian Gaertner, Cathy pointed out the importance of determination and problem solving skills for female leaders. She encourages her peers to constantly seek knowledge and experiences, broaden their horizons and march toward the future.

Sharing | How Entrepreneurs Can Balance Work and Family Yihui Zhou, Life Coach

Zhou Yihui words resonate to many of the participants when she recommended to "Be kind to yourself. We are slower to love ourselves, but quicker to be kind and loving toward others. Learn to love and accept yourself, imperfections and all". And the importance of taking care of our health.

Keynote | This Woman is Different Huan Yue, Award-winning TV Drama and Movie Screenwriter in China

Huan Yue shared valuable advices for women who are starting their own business. Taking television drama creation as an example, she recommended female entrepreneurs to avoid starting a business with people who are very close acquaintances (such as good friends or boyfriends), accept that it is a process that takes time, and tips on selecting well your financial partners.

In the afternoon, Sophia moderated a panel of community leaders. They all recognized the independence and empowerment of modern women. Miranda proposes three elements to be influential: brave voice, focus and perseverance.

At the evening panel moderated by Jenny Gu, all panelists recognised the rise female leaders worldwide and the need for guidance and ressources to support this trend. Carrie believes that women's strong emotional control, can be an advantage. Shirley believes that a good leader should have the ability to inspire others. William's view is that leaders must have a clear direction and focus all their efforts. On the issue of how women can balance their work and family, Shirley explained the importance of communicating with her partner.

In addition, guests enjoyed healthy bunch, dinner, make-up and styling area and a special experience corner in collaboration with ELLE China. "I have a dream" gallery exhibition, and "dreamlab" experience room also attracted a large number of participants.
