"The best way to predict the future is to create it"

As a digital marketing specialist, I worked with multinational corporations and start-ups in various industries. Right after my studies in Paris, I've worked in Delhi, then London and finally Hong Kong, to rapidly become a global citizen.

Like many of my fellow female entrepreneurs, I am a risks-taker who embraces the power of change. We are at the dawn of a new era, digital natives all around the world have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and they are shaking up current models, leading an exciting digital shift. Our aim is to contribute to this shift and particularly support women on taking the leap into entrepreneurship.

Female Entrepreneurs Worldwide is a global community, born out of our common passion for women empowerment. We bring you stories and actions that make a difference.

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

I have spent my first 20 years in Guangdong China, where I was born and raised. Since young, I’ve had great passions about learning languages and craved for knowledge. This has given me the chance to spend my school days in mainland China, United States and Hong Kong. In these places, I learnt listening and understanding weigh much when it comes to communications.

I started my fascinating journey as a communication professional, and have helped various brands in technology, healthcare, accounting, fashion and other industries grow and successfully build their names in Hong Kong, mainland China, India, Singapore and other Asia Pacific markets. Giving up presumptions and figuring out what the brands and the audience in diverse cultures really want are critical to communication. And I get to realise that the constant zeal to learn and grow and help others can take you to where you desire to be.

Now being part of the FEW team brings me tremendous motivations and inspirations, since I shared its vision to connect and empower other women to pursue their ambitions. I feel very inspired and enthusiastic about the adventure to grow with FEW, to break boundaries and make an impact!

"The idea is not to live forever, it is to create something that will."

I spent 4 years pursuing a career as a pilot and another 2 years as a teacher, before finding my place in the world as a Creative Designer - a role that allows me to combine my love for technology, my passion for design and my incurable desire to create things…

After completing my design education at Shillington College in Brisbane, I began my design journey in the Advertising industry in South Australia, before entering the non-for-profit sector in Hong Kong as the in house designer for The Women’s Foundation. I am now exploring the luxury industry in my role as Creative Designer at Quintessentially.

Somewhat of a design addict, I also spend a great deal of time using my skills to help entrepreneurs build their business. From logos and branding to websites, social media and all the marketing collateral in between, I just love working with passionate people to bring their business ideas to life. In recent years, I have had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of Hong Kong organisations including Eat Fresh, Zarie Athlesiure, Asian Charity Services, The Nature Conservatory, Multi-Sport, Stanley Wellness Centre, The Zero Point and of course FEW!

I am so thrilled to be able to support the FEW team as we build such an incredible community of female entrepreneurs. Everyday I am inspired by the energy and passion that can be found in Hong Kong, and have now dedicated myself to the pursuit of cultivating creativity in this concrete jungle. "Be the director of your dreams, and Action!"

Since graduating from university in the states, I have worked in sales and marketing field for several MNC and startups in different industries. All these sales and marketing experiences have taught me to go after what I want in life, to stand tall in the face of rejections and objections, to persist in my goals and actions, and to understand a business's operation in details.  As a result, these gave me confidence to leave my comfort zone and to pursue a career that I have always dreamed to have as an Entrepreneur.

Starting a business is never easy, especially in a one-person business where I constantly faced a lot of obstacles and challenges. However, on one occasion at a networking event, I found my best business partner who share the same vision and we have been supporting each other ever since. Adequate support and resources are crucial to navigating the early stages of any new business.  Therefore, female entrepreneurs’ community is a perfect way for all the aspiring businesswomen to connect with successful business leaders to share stories, exchange resources and get inspired.

"If you change nothing, nothing will change"

After attending grad school at Northwestern University in Chicago, I moved to Hong Kong to pursue a career in journalism. Over the past five years, I have been incredibly fortunate to meet and interview inspiring people from all walks of life.

Thanks to the free-flow of inspiring stories in Asia, my work has been published by CNN, Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Forbes Travel Guide, BBC Travel, Munchies (Vice), Fodor's, Tatler, Time, Sotheby's, NPR, Time Out, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and more.

In 2015, I launched The Loop lifestyle website with co-founder Adele Wong, followed by my own boutique copywriting business. Hustling as a freelancer and entrepreneur taught me to have confidence in my ideas, be persistent, learn from rejection, and take every opportunity to leap out of my comfort zone.

I am excited to support the amazing women in the FEW community through blog profiles, crucial statistics, and helpful tips on how to be more efficient and productive.

With my previous working experience, I used to study a lot on various industries and seek for potential investment opportunities. It made me created interest in finding business opportunities in various countries and industries and I was involved with a few businesses. In the past, I found men are naturally more aggressive than women. Not that because women are less capable, but they are just tend to be more passive than men. Whenever I discussed about economy, politics and business opportunities with people, men are generally more business minded and more willing to take risks than women. However, a new generation of female entrepreneurs driving growth especially in developing countries nowadays.

Female Entrepreneurs Worldwide is a collaborative platform where women gather to share ideas, connections and knowledge. Our aim is to reach different successful officers and entrepreneurs globally to empower women to build stronger economies and social development and improve the quality of life for families and communities.

“The only constant in life, is change”

As a Sociology major and specialist in Change Management I am passionate about discovering what great companies do differently from the rest. What do their leaders do? What kind of culture do they have? How do they nurture, develop and protect that culture? What can we learn from top performers that is coachable for all? Creating an environment where smart, self-motivated, innovative individuals can thrive is something that drives me.

I have been very fortunate in 14+ years of working for Fortune 500 companies in a range of roles from building large regional sales teams as a Sales Manager, to building Leadership Skills for thousands of Managers, as Head of Leadership Development for Google Asia. I have learned that it is important to experience both sides of an organisation, front line sales and operations & strategy team in order to really understand the importance of focusing on the customer as well as the nuances of how to make any change strategy stick.

During my 10 year tenure at Google I have lived and breathed the unique experience of how technology changes industries and how to navigate that change successfully through your people. I understand the impact change can have on people, and know how to take them on a journey having led strategic initiatives that involve diversity & inclusion, coaching and innovation for thousands of people.

I have now co-founded a People & Culture consulting practice that aims to bring positive change to workplaces across the globe. I see FEW as a key partner to empower female leaders both at a start-up and corporate level.
